Job Description

The General Manager (GM) of Nepalirika Hotel is the senior-most executive responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial performance of the property. The GM leads all departments of the hotel to ensure high-quality guest experiences, efficient operations, strong revenue growth, and compliance with hospitality standards.

The role demands visionary leadership, excellent people management, and the ability to balance guest satisfaction with profitability. The GM represents the brand image of Nepalirika Hotel in the market and ensures that the hotel consistently delivers “Best in the East” service standards.

Key Responsibilities

A. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement long-term business strategies aligned with hotel goals
  • Set annual business plans, budgets, and revenue targets
  • Establish operational policies and procedures
  • Drive brand positioning and market competitiveness

B. Operations Management

  • Oversee all hotel departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, HR, Finance, and Maintenance
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of rooms, banquet halls, restaurants, and other facilities
  • Maintain service standards as per 3-star hotel requirements
  • Handle guest relations and resolve escalated complaints

C. Financial Management

  • Prepare and manage annual budgets
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability
  • Control operational costs and maximize efficiency
  • Analyze financial reports and take corrective actions

D. Human Resource Management

  • Recruit, train, and develop department heads and staff
  • Create a positive work culture and performance-driven environment
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Ensure staff discipline, ethics, and service excellence

E. Sales and Marketing Oversight

  • Lead sales initiatives to increase occupancy and banquet business
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients and travel partners
  • Promote the hotel through events, digital platforms, and partnerships
  • Identify new business opportunities

F. Compliance and Quality Control

  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, safety, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain health, fire, and safety protocols
  • Monitor quality standards across all services
  • Ensure proper maintenance of hotel assets

G. Representation and Networking

  • Act as the face of Nepalirika Hotel in the community
  • Coordinate with local authorities, tourism bodies, and suppliers
  • Attend industry events and promote the hotel brand
